Greek pension payment dates 2026: when e-EFKA pays, month by month
Greek pensions are paid in advance, in two waves at the end of the previous month. This guide gives the next dates and is updated every month.
13We read 13 sources, all in Greek, 4 of them official documents, so you can read this in 3 minutes. What we checked ↓
At a glance
- November 2026 pensions are paid on Monday 26 October and Thursday 29 October 2026.
- Former non-salaried funds (ΟΑΕΕ, ΟΓΑ, ΕΤΑΑ), pensions awarded from 1 January 2017 and private-sector supplementary pensions come first; former salaried funds (including ΝΑΤ) and the public sector follow.
- Greek press reports that money usually shows at ATMs from the afternoon of the previous working day; e-ΕΦΚΑ does not say this.
The next Greek pension payment is for November 2026, and it arrives in October, in two waves: Monday 26 October and Thursday 29 October 2026.1 Which day applies to you depends on your former fund, on when your pension was awarded and on whether it is a main or a supplementary pension.1
The dates come from e-ΕΦΚΑ (e-EFKA), the body that pays Greek pensions.2 It announced them in a press release on 7 October 2026.1 Greek outlets reported the same dates that day.3456
November 2026 payment dates
| Date | Who is paid |
|---|---|
| Monday 26 October 2026 | Main pensions of the former non-salaried funds ΟΑΕΕ (OAEE), ΟΓΑ (OGA) and ΕΤΑΑ (ETAA).1 Main pensions awarded since ΕΦΚΑ (EFKA) was set up under Law 4387/2016, through its ΟΠΣ-ΕΦΚΑ (OPS-EFKA) system: salaried and non-salaried pensioners from 1 January 2017 onwards.1 All private-sector supplementary (επικουρικές, epikourikes) pensions, for salaried and non-salaried pensioners.1 |
| Thursday 29 October 2026 | Main pensions of the former salaried-worker funds: ΙΚΑ-ΕΤΑΜ (IKA-ETAM), the bank funds, ΟΤΕ (OTE), ΔΕΗ (DEI), the other merged funds ΤΣΕΑΠΓΣΟ (TSEAPGSO) and ΤΣΠ-ΗΣΑΠ (TSP-ISAP), ΝΑΤ (NAT), ΕΤΑΤ (ETAT) and ΕΤΑΠ-ΜΜΕ (ETAP-MME).1 Main and supplementary public-sector pensions.1 |
Some of these names need explaining. ΟΑΕΕ, ΟΓΑ and ΕΤΑΑ are what e-ΕΦΚΑ calls «τέως ταμεία Μη Μισθωτών» (teos tameia Mi Misthoton), former funds for non-salaried workers.1 ΝΑΤ is listed among the «τέως Ταμεία Μισθωτών», the former funds for salaried workers.1
How the dates are set
e-ΕΦΚΑ says the dates "follow the rule of separation between salaried and non-salaried" pensioners (in our translation).1 For November, main pensions from the former non-salaried funds are paid on 26 October and main pensions from the former salaried funds on 29 October.1 The release does not explain why these two particular days were chosen.1
Pensions are paid in advance: at the end of each month, e-ΕΦΚΑ pays the pension for the following month.2 So November's pension lands in late October.1 For the same reason, e-ΕΦΚΑ says pension money paid in after a pensioner's death should not be collected.2
Powergame.gr reported on 29 September that e-ΕΦΚΑ's board had proposed the 26 and 29 October dates, before the official release.7
When the money reaches your account
The official release gives payment dates only, not the time money becomes available.1 What follows comes from the Greek press, not from e-ΕΦΚΑ.
Greek outlets report that pension money usually starts to appear gradually at cash machines (ATMs) on the previous working day, after 17:00, depending on the bank.789 For the 26 October wave, that means from the afternoon of Friday 23 October.911 For the 29 October wave, the press expects money from the afternoon of Tuesday 27 October,8911 because Wednesday 28 October is a public holiday.8910
If you live abroad
e-ΕΦΚΑ's frequently asked questions page says that pensioners who live outside Greece should contact the Διεύθυνση Εκκαθάρισης και Πληρωμής Συντάξεων (Diefthynsi Ekkatharisis kai Pliromis Syntaxeon), or Pension Clearance and Payment Directorate, about the clearance and payment of their pension.2 The FAQ gives life certificates, changes of bank account (IBAN) and pension amounts as examples.2
For pensioners of the former ΙΚΑ-ΕΤΑΜ and ΕΤΕΑΜ (ETEAM) funds, the contact is exot.ika@efka.gov.gr, at Πατησίων 12 (Patision 12), 10677 Athens.2 This answer on the page was last updated on 20 February 2023, so check it before you write.2
To change the account your pension is paid into, go to the bank of your choice, which makes the change for you.2
Where to check
e-ΕΦΚΑ has an e-service for the monthly statement of your main pension (ενημερωτικό σημείωμα, enimerotiko simeioma), which you open with your TAXISnet codes.12 It covers pensioners of the former funds and the public sector as well as new pensioners, with data from 1 January 2019.12 The page does not say whether people abroad without TAXISnet codes can use it.12
e-ΕΦΚΑ's press releases, including the payment dates, are listed on its press-release page.13 The November dates were announced in release no. 427 on 7 October 2026.1
December 2026
e-ΕΦΚΑ had not announced the December 2026 payment dates when we checked its press-release list on 8 October 2026.13 Under the advance-payment rule, December's pension is paid at the end of November.2 We will update this guide when the dates are published.
What we checked
Highlights from our fact-check against the original Greek documents. Every claim in the article went through the same check.
- Confirmed

Confirmed in e-ΕΦΚΑ's press release of 7 October 2026.1

What we don't know yet
- When e-ΕΦΚΑ will announce the December 2026 payment dates, which are paid in late November.
- How pensions are paid to people living abroad: into a Greek account or by transfer to a foreign bank, and whether on the same dates. No official page we read explains this.
- The e-ΕΦΚΑ contact details for pensioners abroad from funds other than former ΙΚΑ-ΕΤΑΜ and ΕΤΕΑΜ.
- Whether pensioners abroad without TAXISnet codes can use the main-pension statement e-service.
- Whether every bank follows the reported practice of releasing pension money at ATMs after 17:00 on the previous working day.
