Revolut Surpasses 2 Million User Milestone in Greece
Revolut, the global financial technology (fintech) company with more than 75 million customers worldwide, has recorded a significant milestone in the Greek market, surpassing 2 million customers. This achievement highlights Greece as the company's 11th largest market globally based on the number of retail customers and ranks it among those with the highest penetration, as more than 18% of the Greek population now uses the platform.
From Travel App to Daily Banking Tool
The rapid increase in users marks Revolut's transition from a simple travel payment and money transfer application to a core partner for managing daily finances. Usage data confirms this trend, with domestic payments now accounting for 68% of total card payments.
This momentum was strongly reflected during 2025, a year in which the company attracted more than 400,000 new retail customers in Greece, increasing its total customer base by more than 30%. Concurrently, total card transactions recorded an annual increase of 50%, maintaining Revolut’s position as the most popular financial application in terms of downloads for the second consecutive year.
Strengthening Business and Investment Operations
Beyond retail customers, Revolut is recording significant penetration in the corporate sector. Customers of the Revolut Business service in Greece increased by more than 40%, while corporate deposits saw a rise of 60%. The adoption of the platform by businesses and professionals is complemented by intense user investment activity. The number of investors increased by nearly 60%, with total investment volume recording a jump of over 130%. Notably, Greek customers have invested over €320 million ($345.6 million) in the platform's Flexible Accounts (low-risk investment products offering daily interest).
The Digital Transition of the Banking Sector
Commenting on the company's progress, Ignacio Zunzunegui, Revolut's Head of Growth for Southern Europe, underlined that Greece represents one of the most characteristic examples in Europe of how digital transformation and competition are redefining the banking sector. As he noted, consumers are now turning to services that are simpler, fairer, and tailored to their needs. Reaching 2 million customers is considered a pivotal milestone that reflects a deeper change in consumer behavior, as users trust the platform on a large scale for their daily transactions.
