### Activity codes: Friday 30 October 2026 is the last day to fix the automatic switch without a fine

ΑΑΔΕ (Ανεξάρτητη Αρχή Δημοσίων Εσόδων, Anexartiti Archi Dimosion Esodon), the tax authority, moved the activity codes of every business that has not ceased trading, Greek or foreign, from the 2008 list to the new ΚΑΔ 2025 list in a central, automatic process that began on 1 March 2026.[S4][S7] A ΚΑΔ (Κωδικός Αριθμός Δραστηριότητας, Kodikos Arithmos Drastiriotitas) is the code for each activity a business or freelancer registers with ΑΑΔΕ.[S4] If the automatic switch got your codes right, you do not need to do anything.[S7]

Friday 30 October 2026 is the last day to correct a code that the switch added, changed or removed without paying a fine.[S1][S2] The date comes from ΑΑΔΕ decision Α.1118/2026 of 28 May 2026, which amended decision Α.1004/2026 and moved the original deadline of 1 June 2026.[S3][S7][S8] We found no further extension on Diavgeia (Διαύγεια), the government's transparency portal, as of 29 October 2026, and press reports of 26 to 28 October 2026 still give 30 October.[S14][S11][S12][S13]

**Who should check?** ΑΑΔΕ switched the codes of 1.9 million businesses: for 1.4 million tax numbers each old code had one new match, while for 510,000 an old code now matches several new ones and ΑΑΔΕ picked the main and secondary codes itself, Business Daily and Insider reported from an ΑΑΔΕ announcement of 27 April 2026.[S5][S6] In our reading, those 510,000 businesses are the ones to check first.[S5][S6] Each business can download a "certificate of mapping ΚΑΔ 2008 to ΚΑΔ 2025" from myBusinessSupport, and the certificate must be accepted for any lawful use.[S9][S5]

**How to fix it.** A correction goes through myAADE's «Μεταβολή στοιχείων επιχείρησης» (change of business details) and «Μεταβολή Στοιχείων Εγκατάστασης Εσωτερικού» (change of domestic installation details) applications, and it is dated to the day of the automatic switch.[S1][S2] ΑΑΔΕ gives the menu path as Μητρώο & Επικοινωνία > Αλλαγή Στοιχείων Μητρώου > Στοιχεία Επιχείρησης (Registry & Communication > Change registry details > Business details), with help by phone on 1521 (Monday to Friday 07:00–20:00) or online through my1521.[S7][S8] The fine-free route is open only if no ΚΑΔ change has been made at the head office or a branch after 1 March 2026.[S1][S2] Where ΑΑΔΕ could not complete the automatic switch and has notified the taxpayer, the taxpayer files a request through «Τα Αιτήματά μου» (My Requests), also by 30 October 2026 and without a fine.[S1][S2]

**What happens after Friday?** From 31 October 2026, any ΚΑΔ entry, change or removal follows the ordinary rules, and corrections of the mapping filed late attract the sanctions of article 53 of the Κώδικας Φορολογικής Διαδικασίας (ΚΦΔ, Kodikas Forologikis Diadikasias), the Tax Procedure Code.[S1][S2] The decision does not state an amount.[S1] Article 53(1) sets a €100 fine per breach for late returns that show no tax to pay, but neither the decision nor any of the reports we read says that this paragraph applies to a late ΚΑΔ correction.[S10][S1][S11][S12][S13]

### Cash on delivery stays: the courier rule is not in the tabled bill

Shoppers in Greece can keep paying couriers in cash at the door.[S20][S17] The draft rule that would have required electronic payment, at any amount, for goods delivered to private buyers is not in the omnibus bill that the finance ministry tabled in Parliament on 26 October 2026.[S16][S17][S20] By our reading of the tabled bill, no article mentions couriers or amends article 20 of law 3842/2010, where the rule would have gone, and articles 299 and 300, which carried it in the consultation draft, now deal with other matters.[S16]

### Friday 30 October 2026: which ferries sail, and what else stops?

- **Saronic Gulf.** AERO HIGHSPEEDS cancels its Friday departures from Piraeus at 06:30, 08:00, 08:30, 10:00, 10:40, 11:30, 12:30, 14:00, 14:40, 16:30, 18:00 and 18:40, which serve Aegina, Angistri, Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Ermioni and Porto Heli, and its 06:00 departure from Porto Heli to Piraeus on Saturday 31 October.[S22][S23]

We found no strike call by ΠΝΟ (Πανελλήνια Ναυτική Ομοσπονδία, Panellinia Naftiki Omospondia), the seafarers' federation, as of 29 October 2026; Minoan's notice names only ΠΕΝΕΝ, ΠΕΜΕΝ and ΣΤΕΦΕΝΣΩΝ.[S24][S32] Separately, ΟΜΥΛΕ, the federation of permanent port employees, holds a stoppage from 10:00 to 13:00 on Friday; its main demand is collective labour agreements in all of Greece's ports.[S40][S41]

- **Chania.** Εργατοϋπαλληλικό Κέντρο Νομού Χανίων (Ergatoypalliliko Kentro Nomou Chanion), the Chania Labour Centre, has called a stoppage from 17:00 to 21:00 on Friday 30 October 2026 and a rally at 18:00 in the square of the Municipal Market, over understaffing at Chania General Hospital.[S30][S31]
- **Metro, tram and buses.** We found no strike or stoppage notice for the Athens metro, tram or buses on 30 October 2026 as of the morning of 29 October; the reports that list Friday's participants do not include urban transport.[S33][S34]
- **Trains.** Πανελλήνια Ένωση Προσωπικού Έλξης (ΠΕΠΕ, Panellinia Enosi Prosopikou Elxis), the train drivers' union, has called a 24-hour strike for Friday, as our [28 October brief](https://agentnews.gr/brief/2026-10-28) reported, but Hellenic Train's press page had no notice of cancellations for 30 October 2026 when we checked it on 29 October.[S33][S35]
- **Hospitals.** ΠΟΕΔΗΝ (Πανελλήνια Ομοσπονδία Εργαζομένων Δημόσιων Νοσοκομείων, Panellinia Omospondia Ergazomenon Dimosion Nosokomeion), the hospital workers' federation, says it takes part in Friday's stoppage in support of the dockers' international action; ΑΔΕΔΥ (ADEDY), the civil servants' confederation, has called that stoppage from 08:00 to 12:00 in Attica and Achaia and from 11:00 in Thesprotia.[S36][S37] The 24-hour hospital strike in the regions that Healthpharma and Proto Thema report is on Thursday 10 December 2026, not on Friday.[S38][S39]

### Heating allowance: still no decision, and no "mid-November" date

The 2026–27 heating allowance still has no joint ministerial decision (Κοινή Υπουργική Απόφαση, Koini Ypourgiki Apofasi, ΚΥΑ), the act that sets the rules, as of 29 October 2026.[S45][S44] We found none among the new decisions listed by Taxheaven, and the finance ministry has issued no further announcement since 14 October 2026.[S45][S44]

The ministry's timetable is unchanged: the application platform "is expected to open by 10 November", and the advance, also 30% higher, "is expected to be paid by 23 December 2026" (our translation).[S42] Οικονομικός Ταχυδρόμος (ot.gr) headlined on 29 October 2026 that the platform opens "mid-November", but its own article says "by 10 November", and no official text gives a mid-November date.[S43][S42] The ministry estimates that about 750,000 households, almost 60% of those who heat with oil, meet the criteria.[S42] Our [heating allowance guide](https://agentnews.gr/guides/greece-heating-allowance-2026-27) sets out what is official and what is not.

### ΟΠΕΚΑ: no October announcement yet, and Friday's €600 deadline stands

ΟΠΕΚΑ (Οργανισμός Προνοιακών Επιδομάτων και Κοινωνικής Αλληλεγγύης, Organismos Pronoiakon Epidomaton kai Koinonikis Allilengyis), the welfare-benefits agency, had published no October 2026 payment announcement when we checked its website on the morning of 29 October 2026; its latest release was dated 14 October.[S46][S47] iefimerida called Friday 30 October "the official payment date" on 27 October 2026, without citing an ΟΠΕΚΑ release or giving amounts.[S49]

### Omnibus bill: committee work was due to start on 29 October 2026

### Energy: EU ministers meet, and the pump subsidies end on 31 October 2026

Σταύρος Παπασταύρου (Stavros Papastavrou), the Environment and Energy minister, is at the EU energy ministers' council in Luxembourg on Thursday 29 October 2026.[S54][S55][S56] The agenda includes a proposed regulation on affordable electricity for households and businesses and energy security for winter 2026–27.[S54][S55][S56] Brent crude was at $116 a barrel on 28 October 2026, ERT reported.[S57]
